KASBP는 과학적 우수성을 장려하고 차세대 연구자들의 성장을 지원하기 위해 매년 Fellowship을 수여하고 있습니다. 이번 Fellowship은 생명과학 및 제약·바이오 분야에서 의미 있는 연구 성과를 이룬 우수한 초기 경력 연구자를 대상으로 합니다.

선정된 Fellowship 수상자는 2026 KASBP Fall Symposium에서 연구를 발표하며, $1,500의 상금을 받게 됩니다.

지원 분야

다음 분야의 연구자를 대상으로 합니다.

• 의학
• 생명과학
• 제약과학
• 유기 및 의약화학
• 신약 발굴 및 개발 관련 분야

지원 자격

다음 중 하나에 해당하는 연구자는 지원할 수 있습니다.

• 대학 또는 제약·바이오 기업의 박사후연구원(Postdoctoral Fellow: PhD, MD, PharmD, DVM, MD/PhD)
• 대학 또는 산업계의 박사 또는 석사 학위를 보유한 Staff Scientist
• Tenure-track이 아닌 Instructor 또는 Junior Faculty

지원 불가 대상

• 대학원생
• 과거 KASBP Fellowship 수상자

수상자 및 포스터 발표 요건

Fellowship 수상자는 다음 사항을 반드시 수행해야 합니다.

• 2026 KASBP Fall Symposium 등록
• 3분 구두 발표
• 심포지엄에서 포스터 발표

또한 Fellowship 지원자 중 일부는 포스터 발표자로 별도 선정될 수 있습니다. 포스터 발표를 희망하는 경우 별도의 포스터 신청서는 필요하지 않으며, Fellowship 지원 이메일 제목에 **“Prefer to Present Poster”**를 명시하면 됩니다.

포스터 발표자로 선정된 경우 $500의 상금이 지급됩니다.

※ Fellowship 수상자 및 포스터 발표자에게는 교통, 숙박 또는 심포지엄 등록비가 지원되지 않습니다.

In keeping with a longstanding tradition, the KASBP grants fellowships to promising scholars who have made notable contributions in biomedical and pharmaceutical research. The fellowship awards $1500 and invites recipients to the 2026 Spring KASBP Symposium, where they will have the opportunity to present their research, engage with current trends in the pharmaceutical industry, and build connections with leaders and experts within the Korean American biotech and pharmaceutical community.

Following a rigorous review of a highly competitive applicant pool from across North America, we are pleased to announce and extend our congratulations to the 2026 Spring KASBP Fellowship recipients. We also express our gratitude to all candidates who submitted applications.

2026 Spring MOGAM-KASBP Scholarship Recipients

The MOGAM-KASBP Scholarship program awards undergraduate and graduate students pursuing science-related disciplines at university or scientific institution outside of the Republic of Korea (ROK) thanks to the generous support of MOGAM Science Scholarship Foundation. To foster students to advance their studies in KASBP's key areas of interest, the program offers $5000 to select scholars. Additionally, recipients are invited to attend the 2026 Spring KASBP Symposium, where they will have the opportunity to explore the current trend of the pharmaceutical industry and to establish networks with leaders and experts in Korean-American pharmaceutical society. Having reviewed a highly competitive pool of candidates from all across North America, we proudly congratulate the 5th MOGAM-KASBP Scholars. We thank everyone who took the time to submit a scholarship application.

2026 KASBP Spring Symposium

The Korean American Society in Biotech and Pharmaceuticals (KASBP) is a non-profit organization founded in May 2001. With the generous support of MOGAM Science Scholarship Foundation, KASBP established MOGAM-KASBP scholarship in 2022 to foster brilliant undergraduate and graduate student(s) studying science-related disciplines at university and/or scientific institution outside of Republic of Korea (ROK). We warmly invite you to apply for the 5^th MOGAM-KASBP Scholarship. The recipient will receive a $5,000 prize along with coverage for airfare and one night of hotel accommodation.

Invited Area: Medical sciences, Biological & Pharmaceutical sciences, Organic/Medicinal chemistry, and/or areas related to drug discovery and development

Qualifications and guidelines:

1. The applicant must be an undergraduate or a graduate student
2. Previous MOGAM-KASBP scholars may reapply for sustainable growth support, however each person can receive the scholarship no more than twice. Anyone who has received the MOGAM Science Scholarship Foundation’s Study Abroad Scholarship; 목암과학장학재단 해외유학생 장학금” are NOT eligible to apply
3. The applicant must have ROK citizenship
4. Permanent US resident (green card holder) retaining ROK citizenship is eligible to apply
5. The applicant who holds dual citizenship (i.e., both ROK and foreign country) must declare not exercising foreign citizenship in Korea before submitting the application
6. The applicant must attend the Symposium, or the nomination will be withdrawn
7. The awardee is encouraged to present a poster (Optional. Please indicate in your scholarship application “Prefer to present poster”, if you are willing to present poster).
8. The award nominee will be asked to submit 4 documents. 1) a copy of current enrollment verification certificate, 2) a copy of current passport, 3) a copy of passport information certificate, and 4) a copy of your visa or green card to prove ROK nationality before the symposium. The nomination will be cancelled upon failure of submitting the documents.

·        Materials to submit: Submit one PDF (max six pages) with cover letter, abstract of representative work or achievement, future research direction, and CV in English. Word files are not accepted.

·        Cover letter: Free style in English (describe originality of your proposal, impact of the work or proposal to your field, and how this scholarship will fertilize your carrier development.

2026 KASBP Spring Symposium

The Korean American Society in Biotech and Pharmaceuticals (KASBP) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the KASBP Fellowship. Continuing our established tradition, this fellowship recognizes outstanding early-career scholars who have significantly advanced biomedical and pharmaceutical research. The 2026 KASBP Spring Symposium will take place at the Sheraton Mission Valley in San Diego, CA, from June 19th to 20th, 2026. Fellowship awardees will receive a cash prize of $1,500 presented during the symposium.

Eligible Fields: Medical, biological, and pharmaceutical sciences; organic/medicinal chemistry; as well as related areas of drug discovery.

Eligibility:

• Postdoctoral fellows (PhD, MD, PharmD, DVM, or MD/PhD) at academic or pharmaceutical institutions

• Staff scientists with a doctorate or master's degree at academic or pharmaceutical institutions

• Instructors or junior staff not on tenure track at academic institutions

Ineligible:

• Graduate students

• Previous award recipients

The fellowship awardee must register for the KASBP Spring Symposium, or the nomination will be withdrawn. Poster presenters will be selected from among applicants and notified directly (a separate poster application is not necessary; please indicate “prefer to present poster” in your fellowship application email if you are interested in presenting a poster but are not awarded the fellowship). Each poster presenter will receive a cash prize of $500. The fellowship recipient must deliver a 3-minute oral presentation and present a poster at the symposium. Please note that support for travel, lodging, and symposium registration expenses is not provided for the fellowship awardee and poster presenter.

KASBP Fellowship Award

2025 KASBP Fall Symposium

Dear Young Scholars,

The Korean American Society in Biotech and Pharmaceuticals (KASBP) is pleased to invite applications for the KASBP Fellowship. In keeping with our longstanding tradition, this fellowship recognizes young scholars who have demonstrated significant contributions to biomedical and pharmaceutical research. The 2025 KASBP Fall Symposium will take place at the Westin Hotel, Waltham MA, from November 7^th to November 8^th, 2025. Fellowship recipients will be awarded a $1000 cash prize during the symposium.

Invited Area: 

Medical sciences, Biological & Pharmaceutical sciences, Organic/Medicinal chemistry, and/or areas related to drug discovery and development

Detailed Information:

1. Qualification:

●        Postdoctoral fellow(PhD, MD, PharmD, DVM, and/or MD/PhD) currently working at an academic or pharmaceutical institution.

●        Staff scientist with either doctoral degree or master degree working at academic or pharmaceutical institutions.

●        Instructor or non-tenure track junior staff member working at an academicinstitution.

●        Graduate students are NOT eligible to apply.

●        Previous awardees are NOT eligible to apply

1. The fellowship awardee MUST register to the KASBP Spring Symposium (The nomination will be retracted upon failure of the registration).
2. The awardee will receive partial travel support.
3. All applicants are encouraged to present posters. Due to the limited space, the poster presenter will be selected and notified (a poster presenter will receive $200 cash prize)
4. The fellowship awardee MUST give a 3-min oral talk and present a poster.
