KASBP Fellowship Award

2026 KASBP Spring Symposium

The Korean American Society in Biotech and Pharmaceuticals (KASBP) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the KASBP Fellowship. Continuing our established tradition, this fellowship recognizes outstanding early-career scholars who have significantly advanced biomedical and pharmaceutical research. The 2026 KASBP Spring Symposium will take place at the Sheraton Mission Valley in San Diego, CA, from June 19th to 20th, 2026. Fellowship awardees will receive a cash prize of $1,500 presented during the symposium.

Eligible Fields: Medical, biological, and pharmaceutical sciences; organic/medicinal chemistry; as well as related areas of drug discovery.

Eligibility:

• Postdoctoral fellows (PhD, MD, PharmD, DVM, or MD/PhD) at academic or pharmaceutical institutions

• Staff scientists with a doctorate or master's degree at academic or pharmaceutical institutions

• Instructors or junior staff not on tenure track at academic institutions

Ineligible:

• Graduate students

• Previous award recipients

The fellowship awardee must register for the KASBP Spring Symposium, or the nomination will be withdrawn. Poster presenters will be selected from among applicants and notified directly (a separate poster application is not necessary; please indicate “prefer to present poster” in your fellowship application email if you are interested in presenting a poster but are not awarded the fellowship). Each poster presenter will receive a cash prize of $500. The fellowship recipient must deliver a 3-minute oral presentation and present a poster at the symposium. Please note that support for travel, lodging, and symposium registration expenses is not provided for the fellowship awardee and poster presenter.

Deadline: March 13, 2026 (9:00 PM EST)

Application Materials: Submit one PDF (max six pages) with cover letter, abstract of representative work, future research direction, and CV in English. Word files are not accepted.

About KASBP Symposium: It has been an excellent venue for emerging scientists and scholars to connect with a large professional Korean American scientist network. During the symposium you will also be exposed to various cutting-edge sciences in drug discovery and development from the pharmaceutical and biotech industry.
