Our executive pharmaceutical search firm is retained to fill a Director, External Manufacturing & Development (Solid Dose Products) opportunity in California.  This is an outstanding opportunity with a premier biopharmaceutical company. 

Director, External Manufacturing & Development (Solid Dose Products) – Lead a team in charge of manufacturing product transfers from R & D to CMO’s or in between CMO’s for all commercial solid dosage products.  Extensive solid dosage (preferably tablets) small molecule experience is required.  Responsibilities include:

• •·         Leads or serves as key project team member on cross-functional projects with high visibility. 
• •·         Technical expert for complex/high impact manufacturing issues.
• •·         Liaises with Formulations & Process Development Leads in technical transfers to CMO’s.
• •·         Monitors routine manufacturing of CMO’s & develops plans to reduce cost and improve quality.
• •·         Staff development, budgeting and cost control.
