    Job description

We are looking for an experienced scientist with a PhD in molecular virology, several years of Post-doc experience, and familiarity with immunology.

Our scientist will spend 70-100% of the year working at our laboratory headquarters in Busan, Korea to participate in the research and development of our latest candidate virus.  Our scientist may, on occasion, also work with and train personnel at our facility in San Francisco, USA.

We expect the ideal candidate to have a broad background in viral molecular techniques such as viral vector construction, generation, and characterization. Experience with pox virus vectors is preferred, but experience with other vector systems and demonstrable insight in our favorite system may also be considered. Our candidate must have experience in preclinical evaluation of virus vectors in vitro (e.g. assay development) and in vivo (animal models).

Our ideal candidate is fluent in both Korean and English.  In Busan, our scientist will work alongside and train Korean personnel (some of whom speak Korean only) and will interact on a regular basis with USA-based team members.

    Job activities:

    • ·         Planning, conducting, and supervising research activities in our lab in Busan
    • ·         Integrating Busan-based research with activities at other sites (e.g. our lab in San Francisco, vendors, and CROs)
    • ·         Training Korean personnel (some of whom speak Korean only) in virological practices and techniques
    • ·         70-100% of the time in Busan, South Korea

    Required qualifications:

    • ·         PhD and/or post-doctoral experience in molecular virology
    • ·         Minimum of 3 years post-doc experience in molecular virology or related fields
    • ·         Fluency in Korean and English

    Desired qualifications:

    • ·         Experience in training lab personnel of multiple skill levels
    • ·         Experience with the development and execution of SOPs and documentation in a US FDA-compliant manner
    • ·         Outstanding analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
    • ·         Familiarity with immunology and animal modeling of cancer
