The PET Radiopharmaceutical Sciences Section of the Molecular Imaging Branch at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in Bethesda, Maryland, seeks applications for a postdoctoral position in the PET Radiopharmaceutical Sciences Section. NIMH is a major research component of the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Health and Human Services.
Applicants should ideally be within 5 years of having obtained their Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry or closely related subject, possess a combination of skills in radiochemistry with position-emitters (11C, 18F), organic/medicinal chemistry and analytical methods (e.g. HPLC, NMR, LC-MS), and be able to demonstrate strong initiative, experience and productivity in the development of new radioactive probes for brain imaging with positron emission tomography (PET). Appointments are up to 2 years in the first instance and potentially renewable.
