We are pleased to share details on YG Panel Discussion at the 2023 KASBP Fall Symposium!!

YG Panel Discussion and Networking Session will be an invaluable opportunity to connect with professionals from diverse fields. This session is designed to foster meaningful interactions and provide insights into different career paths.

To enhance the career development of YG/young professionals, we have organized a variety of programs, including a Job Fair, CV Clinic, and Networking Sessions during 2023 KASBP Fall Symposium. 

1. Job Fair 

Our Job Fair offers members a unique opportunity to explore career prospects with industry-leading companies, engage in meaningful discussions with recruiters, and gain valuable insights.

• Date/Timing: 2023.11.3. (Fri) 4-6 pm.

• Gifts for Attendees: Job Fair attendees will be eligible for random raffle drawings offering opportunities to win gift cards or jackpot prizes, such as AirPods or prizes equivalent to $100-200

2. CV Clinic/ Networking Sessions 

The CV Clinic will provide guidance on crafting industry-specific CVs and will include a peer-editing and proofreading session for constructive feedback and improvement. Additionally, our Networking sessions will also offer networking opportunities with professionals from various backgrounds.

Kimko 박사님은 Quantitative Systems Pharmacology, Toxicology Modeling 과 Pharmacometrics의 권위자이시며, FAPPS (Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists) 이십니다. 오는 KASBP 가을 심포지엄 첫날 (11월 3일) 'Use of Microphysiological Systems with Quantitative Systems Modeling for Drug Development Decisions"라는 제목으로 Keynote 발표를 해주실 예정입니다. We are pleased to announce the recipient of the most prestigious award presented annually by KASBP, the KASBP-Daewoong Achievement Award. This year's recipient is Dr. Holly Kimko, who currently leads the Systems Medicine Group at AstraZeneca. Dr. Kimko is a renowned expert in quantitative systems pharmacology, toxicology modeling, and pharmacometrics. She is a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (FAPPS).

Dr. Kimko will be delivering a keynote presentation titled "Use of Microphysiological Systems with Quantitative Systems Modeling for Drug Development Decisions" on the first day of the upcoming KASBP Fall Symposium on November 3rd. Congratulations to Dr. Holly Kimko on receiving the KASBP-Daewoong Achievement Award, and we celebrate this achievement with all our members!

2023 KASBP Fall Symposium Organizing Committee 

KASBP extends a warm invitation to the "U.S.-Korea Digital Therapeutics Partnership Forum," scheduled for Wednesday, September 27th, from 5:00 to 8:30 pm in Boston.

This event will be held by the Consulate general of Republic of Korea in Boston and Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) to promote strategic entry of Korea's leading digital healthcare companies into the U.S. market. 

The event will feature expert-invited seminars and network events on digital therapy market prospects and key issues, as well as partnership models between multinational pharmaceutical companies and digital therapy companies.

The Korean American Society in Biotech and Pharmaceuticals (KASBP) is a non-profit organization founded in May 2001. With the generous support of MOGAM Science Scholarship Foundation, KASBP established MOGAM-KASBP scholarship in 2022 to foster brilliant undergraduate and graduate student(s) studying science-related disciplines at university and/or scientific institution outside of Republic of Korea (ROK). We are cordially inviting you to apply 2nd MOGAM-KASBP scholarship. The award winner will receive $5000 prize together with airfare and 1-night hotel supports.

Invited Area:

Medical sciences, Biological & Pharmaceutical sciences, Organic/Medicinal chemistry, and/or areas related to drug discovery and development

Detailed Information:

1. Qualification:
   1. The applicant must be an undergraduate or a graduate student.
   2. The applicant must have ROK citizenship.
   3. Permanent US resident (Green card holder) retaining ROK citizenship is eligible to apply.
   4. The applicant who holds dual citizenship (i.e., both ROK and foreign country) must declare not to exercise foreign citizenship in Korea before submitting the application.
2. The applicant must be registered to 2023 KASBP Fall Symposium (New Jersey, Nov 3rd ~ 4th) by the application deadline.
3. The applicant is encouraged to present a poster (Optional).
4. The award nominee will be asked to submit proven evidences demonstrating both his/her presence at current institution and ROK nationality before the symposium (copy of certificate of enrollment, and copies of visa and passport). The nomination will be cancelled with failure of submitting three described documents.

• Due date: September 30th 2023 EST, by the end of the day.
• Materials to submit: Cover letter and CV are must. Title and abstract are only for those who apply poster competition (PDF preferred).

   • Graduate students are NOT eligible to apply.
2. The fellowship awardee must be registered to the 2023 KASBP Fall Symposium to be eligible to receive the fellowship.
3. The awardee will receive partial travel supports.
4. All applicants are encouraged to present posters. You will be notified the acceptance of poster presentation once selected.
5. The awardee must give a 3-min oral talk and present a poster.
