    The Senior Consultant will be an integral part of the North American Commercial Consulting team, providing assistance throughout the entire Customer Lifecycle of a MarkLogic-based solution. 


    Responsibilities:

    The Senior Consultant is a customer-facing, billable position chartered with engaging customers in a consultative capacity and providing specialized expertise on implementing MarkLogic-based data management, search, and analytics solutions. The Senior Consultant will participate in all aspects of software life cycle using Agile software development methodologies. Additional responsibilities include:

    • Participating in requirements and design workshops with our clients
    • Designing and developing code, scripts and data pipelines that leverage structured and unstructured data integrated from multiple sources
    • Installing and configuring MarkLogic software
    • Developing project deliverable documentation
    • Working solo or as part of team for MarkLogic centered solutions
    • Reporting on assigned tasks
    • Collaborating with clients to define future MarkLogic products

    Interaction:

    This position is a customer-facing position. Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers is required. Ability to understand customer requirements and our products and then combine and translate that information into increased customer success is critical to your success. 

     

    This position operates in a team-oriented environment. As a result, the candidate must build and maintain strong and effective working relationships internally with other consultants, the sales team, sales engineers, product management, customer support, and product marketing.

     

    Supervision:

    This is an individual contributor position.


    Qualifications:  

    Must Have:

    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering or equivalent experience.
    • 5+ years experience delivering software implementation projects within a professional services organization
    • 5+ years of experience working with content/knowledge management systems, search engines, relational databases, NoSQL databases, ETL tools, geospatial systems, semantic technology, or enterprise software solutions.
    • Direct experience with commonly accepted industry architectures/technologies including J2EE, .NET, XML, XSLT, SOA/Web Services, SQL, HTML, HTTP, Javascript, REST
    • Hands-on experience with XML and related technologies (XSLT and/or XQuery)
    • Thorough knowledge of one or more programming languages
    • Working familiarity with multiple programming tools and development environments.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
    • Strong desire and ability to learn quickly and acquire new skills
    • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
    • Comfortable working in a fast paced, high-growth startup environment
    • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%

    Nice to Have:

    • Understanding of database architecture and performance implications
    • Media, Financial Services, Life Science, Healthcare, Consumer Product Goods, or Energy industry experience
    • Experience with MarkLogic
